The solution is to directly access the L1 extra particles, apply whatever cuts one wants, and then use this to seed the HLT.

Hi everyone, I have a question regarding L1: We're working on building a startup trigger for Upsilon->ee. The basic idea is to require 2 EM objects with pt >~ 4 GeV and apply a topological cut so that deltaR between the 2 EM objects is small. Of course there isn't such a trigger in the L1Emulator... and apparently it's not feasible to modify the L1Emulator... so I have to resort to somehow modeling the L1 as best as possible and have heard that this may be possible to do in the HLT. Does anyone know how to go about doing this sort of thing? I'm at FNAL, so it would be great to get some ideas from someone else here.
